I’m sure you’ll not even get this as someone’s messed with my mobile but I’ve been abducted. Or something’s gone off with the TARDIS. Either way, if you do get this…call me. Please.

That…wasn’t meant to go up there. Just ignore that, everyone.

This is…some sort of social networking thing, is it? It seems like a lot of trouble to go to for kidnapping victims but it could be a big experiment. Another one--big experiment--it’s starting to get just a bit old, actually. Is this one of the ones I get an explanation with? It…would help if someone could, cheers.

Alright, I give up, how do I switch this over into actually being a phone again?


[ooc: Rory is standing in what he thinks is an an unnoticeable section of the Square, slightly hunched into himself with his back against a wall. He's got his Blackberry up to his face, but he's mostly looking over the top of it, trying to not look nervous. Approach him if this pings you, or if you just want to, I guess!]

[Stephen is walking home from grocery shopping when he notices a sopping wet man standing by the fountain, texting furiously. He's had a long day at work and really wants to get home and start making spaghetti, but unfortunately his Canadian-ness kicks in and he has to make sure the guy's okay.]

[Rory doesn't notice right away, his one complaint about Storms is the interface--maybe if it was just a BIT more user-friendly he'd have worked out how to text Amy's actual PHONE by now!--but it does register on him soon enough that somebody just talked to him. So he looks up at Stephen and manages a brief sort of weak half-smile.]

Hi...yes, I am, actually. [An American. Does that mean he's in America? Nowhere recognisable, there, if he is.] This will probably sound a bit weird but...where's "here"?

Oh god, new person. I'm really bad at this.

So basically, this is The City. We're all stuck here. No one knows how we got here or how to leave. We all just kind of make the best of it.

[Rory's eyes flick down and unfocus a bit inward as he tries to work out what this means. Not that it isn't clear, the basic meaning, but as far as what it means for him. He looks back up again to ask the first question that comes to mind.]

Can you define "stuck"?

Can't leave. Basically. Some people do go home eventually, but no one knows how or when. Some people are here for a month, others four years.

I know, it's kind of fucking terrifying.

[Rory feels a bit of panic rising in his chest--what if he's trapped here forever! Away from AMY, away from the Doctor, away from Leadworth and AMY, away from his mum and his mates and his job and AMY--and has to swallow and regulate his breathing. Four beats, in and out, breathing through his nose. He can wait, he will wait, however long it is, it's not as if he can't do that.]

Is there...is there a pattern to it? People...leaving. Or. Anything?

Oh. That's her, yeah. [A proper smile spreads a little bit nervously across his face, though he doesn't say "Good". It...technically isn't, after all, they're still trapped here. But, well, they're neither of them alone, at least, and if Amy came here first, he's glad he can be here with her.

No, they haven't, sorry. Not...as far as I know, anyway. [Rory holds out his phone for Stephen to look at if he wants. And it's thanks to all the time travel that he just...takes this as ordinary, all of this.] I'm from 2010, but my mobile's from 2008.

I don't know, but I practically fall off skateboards, so I'm not exactly sure I'd be able to really...properly take advantage of a hoverboard.
