[Rory's been doing a lot of hospital work, lately. He's getting a fair amount of sleep, because he doesn't want to make mistakes, but perhaps not a perfect amount of sleep. Which means he's been working long enough now, that the doctor he was working under has actually made him go take a break. So he's sitting on a park bench in an area of the City with a couple of trees near the hospital. His feet are up on the bench and he's sitting sideways, his back resting slightly against the bench arm. He clearly doesn't realise he has the video on on his device, because he's just looking down at it, flipping through Network entries for something to do.]

[ooc: Fully creepable, especially because he's tired enough that he won't even know how to cope with it right now. Don't be put off by the sad. He NEEDS a distraction.]

[And here comes a distraction, a very freckled sort of distraction just sort of blinking on your device screen. Judging by the surprise in her expression, she didn't mean to switch things to video, but what's done is done so she just points out quite frankly,]

If you're hiding from those bloody creepy dancers, you've picked an awful spot to do it, mate.

[The video jumps slightly as Rory starts. He wasn't expecting anyone to start talking to him.]

...creepy dancers? [Pause, as Rory ponders.] Is that the curse, today?

[Ginny's smile takes on a more sheepish edge.]

Sorry. Didn't mean to just appear like that.

[And then she huffs out a somewhat exasperated sigh, shrugging.]

And, yes. They've got this annoying habit of coming out of nowhere and sort of... dancing into your personal space.

[Rory makes a frowning, confused sort of face, and looks around himself. No...creepy dancers just here, right now.]

That's...odd. Do they do anything after that?

I don't exactly hang around long enough to find out.

[She pauses, then laughs, making a bit of a face herself.]

I don't know if I'd want to.

[She's dressed, as usual, impeccably, her shoes alone probably worth more than everything Rory owns, when she comes and carefully sits next to him, legs crossed]

Hello, Rory.

Isn't it a bit late for lunch break?

[Oh hey Rory! The next time you turn around, you may notice a certain angel parked on the opposite arm of your bench. Wearing giant glasses. And staring.]

Hi, Rory.

[Rory does eventually glance up from his device, and it doesn't strike him as particularly weird that the angel is there. Name...name...name...]

Hi, Dulcie.

[Pause.]

What's going on?

I like your vest.

Yeah, I was...told to leave. [...this is actually entirely commonplace for Rory. At least this time, he hopefully won't come back to find the doctor he was working for dead. THAT's only happened once, though.]

[Rory only notices her when she speaks, at which point he looks up at Saya and smiles slightly, more of a quirking of the corners of his mouth than anything.]

Hi. ... Had luck avoiding the creepy dancers today?

Yeaah. Fair point. [He sort of nods and looks like he's about to talk for a few seconds before actually speaking.] I'm Rory. Hi.

[Slight frown of regional confusion before Rory works out she's talking about his bodywarmer. He's still wearing his scrub trousers, but he at least changed out of the top to sit about.]

Oh. Thanks.

What are you doing?

Ginny Weasley. Hi.

[She grins at him, a bit apologetic.]

Sorry if I interrupted your, er, break in the gardens?

If I don't want to be followed, I won't be.

And you?

[...oh wow. Another person to pretend to not...know anything about. At least he never had a crush on Ginny, so. Slightly less awkward than Buffy.]

It's fine, really. I wasn't doing much of anything. I hadn't planned to take a break.

That is...quite confident of you. And no, I've only just heard of them.

Just sitting about, really. On an enforced hospital break. What about you?

Just hanging out.

[Dulcie hasn't moved yet. Or stopped staring. REALLY intently.]

[Slightly less awkward indeed, though she'll continue on in complete obliviousness. At least she's not Harry.]

No? I mean, I know we've just met and all, but―you doing alright, Rory?

Right. [He looks at his phone. Then back up at Dulcie. Then at his phone. She's still staring. He can feel it. And she doesn't seem to want to talk much, but it feels rude to browse the Network when she's right there.]

Do you need anything or...something?

Yeaaah, I'm fine. I'm just still sort of...unsettled from last week, and I lost track of how long I'd...been...working for.

Then it seems we are both overwhelmed by luck.

Oh, Merlin, I know the feeling. Whatever gets you distracted from the last mad thing this City's done, right?

[She rolls her eyes, then frowns a little.]

I've been here for a bit now, and I can honestly say last week was one of the weirdest things I've seen here.

I'm good, thanks.

[Still staring.]

Okaaay... As long as you're...fine.

[Between his blackberry and her for a moment, and then he tries to subtly bring his phone up a bit closer to his face. Deeefinitely one of Amy's friends, this.]

[Rory laughs slightly.] Yeah, that's definitely a way to look at it. How...have you been?

Well, at least it's not commonplace. That's...sort of a relief. I don't think-- I mean, I'd rather it wasn't.

[She looks so together when she turns to look at his face]

Remarkably free. Not very busy.

This place'll change into a different-looking world once in a while, but going around in it like a train? I'd never seen anything like it.

Didn't join the daytrips out, then?

We didn't go anywhere I was interested in.

[Dulcie scooches a little further down the bench so that she's sitting right up next to him.]

Why this time?

I was working too long.

Again?

Yep. It just sort of....happens.

You're stupid, you know that, right?

Your angel friend. Dulcie. Is she generally the sort to be a bit...creepy, or is she cursed?

Why, what's she doing?

Staring, mostly. And now she's moved right up next to me. And she's still staring.

Probably cursed, then. Do I need to come rescue you?

Possibly? I mean, I'm not really sure what to do. She isn't actually doing anything. Just staring.

Tell her it's freaking you out?

[Rory is SO ENGLISH. He just. He doesn't want to say anything. Keep calm and carry on and pretend there is not an angel all up in his space.

But with the encouragement of Amy, he looks up from his device and sort of...coughs.]

Heeey...you, um...that is a bit close, actually.
