[There's video of dark walls through a train window. The Underground, moving past. Rory's voice comes from behind the camera. He sounds, perhaps, very slightly upset.]

Soooo....that's all the Underground, right? Nothing else there? Nothing else you can...see outside? Anybody who's watching?

[Camera flipped about to show Rory's face, bits of the Express visible behind him. He's clearly trying to not look upset. Look stoic. It's not entirely working.]

I guess I can just...check the Network myself, after and see if it shows up on video.

[Around, and a bit more video of out the windows. And then he shuts it off.]


[ooc: Backdated to when they were still on the train. Rory's seeing visions of apocalyptic Earth. So. Much...as...usual, really, but he's still upset. Action for anyone on the train, if you want!]

[He wanders over after Rory shuts the camera off, leaning against the wall of the train. Avoiding the windows, yay. And all that getting-the-train-going business was mildly wooze-inducing.] You alright?

[Rory glances out the window, and then turns back to the Doctor, quickly.]

I'm....well...no. Not exactly, no. I know it's not happening right now, and it's not there, I just...don't like not being able to do anything. I dunno. It's silly, cos it's not real.

[He sees the glance and briefly wonders what the future him has had the young man seeing and if it's anything like what he sees when he looks out the windows. Or hears, now. It's clearly enough to deeply unsettle him.

He nods, once, quiet for a moment, and looks out the window for a moment, instantly taking in a sharp breath and exhaling slowly as he looks back at Rory instead.] S'not silly. It's.. Understandable. [Beat.] Really understandable.

[A look at the Doctor, as he thinks. It could be either one, but he has to know. His voice is quieter when he speaks this time, hushed.]

Doctor...when you look out there, do you see Earth? Or is it your planet? [A pause, to remember.] Gallifrey.

.... So you've been travelling with me for a while then? [Playing it offffff. No? No. He's quiet as well, matching.] Mine.

Yeah, long enough. [He doesn't really want to be quiet. He wants to keep talking, about ANYTHING, really.] Do you...hear them?

[Yeah, this topic of conversation is not one he normally willingly enters into even with people he knows, much less ones that he met very recently. It takes him a moment to decide whether he wants to know Rory and talk when the guy is clearly unsettled, or do the usual.] Yes. [Well, little steps.] Clearly not the only one though, so it's nothing special. Nothing I'm not used to, anyway.

[It's high past time for a topic shift.] How's Amy?

Yeah, I just....wanted to know I wasn't going mad all by myself.

[He will totally jump onto that topic change, yes.]

She is...still not entirely happy with me for trying to keep this thing secret from her. But...as far as the window stuff, she says she's not seeing it and...I'm not sure she's telling the truth. [He sighs.] I won't push it unless it gets really bad, I guess. Not when she's already cross.

[Another thing that's very understandable.] Welll, madness is always a bit relative. That bloke who helped get the train started... [He trailed off, making a slightly exaggerated face to insinuate that he found Myrnin a little. Off.

Hell yeah evasive conversational manoeuvres. He doesn't know Amy that well but he can see her becoming at least mildly annoyed about that.] I haven't worked out whether everyone can or not yet. The majority of us do seem to be avoiding the windows like they're some sort of.. Death rattle, so it's somewhat fair to bank on it being a universal effect. [Although, he doesn't know Amy, so. Maybe she really isn't. He's still a bit shaken up between the windows and the periodic pains in his chest now. That's been annoying. Two hearts! Double ow!] I don't.. really.. Domestic isn't my area of expertise, so the, talking.. I don't know. [Sorry Rory.]

Yeah, about that...why does he look exactly like you?

[Oh Doctor. Always so....the Doctor.] It's fine. I'll work it out. Eventually. You don't think there's a way to stop the visions, is there? Do something to the windows, maybe?

Noticed that, did you? I haven't the foggiest. I mean, I'm used to clones and copies and imitations, and then there's that one kid here who looks like a younger version of myself I've never had, but that one.. [He shakes his head for a moment.] Best explanation is that sometimes that just.. happens? Personally I think I wear this face better than he's doing.

The visions don't seem to be there unless you're literally looking out the window. I tried limiting the light spectrum through one a bit earlier but there's something about them that didn't let it take. [That, too, was very annoying.] And even then, the voices would still be there.

Yeah...I didn't think it'd work. Hallucinations... I don't know. Should we go looking to see if there's something we've missed along the train? Something...to pay attention to that isn't the windows?
