[Text]
I’m sure you’ll not even get this as someone’s messed with my mobile but I’ve been abducted. Or something’s gone off with the TARDIS. Either way, if you do get this…call me. Please.

[Further Text, about a half hour later]
That…wasn’t meant to go up there. Just ignore that, everyone.

This is…some sort of social networking thing, is it? It seems like a lot of trouble to go to for kidnapping victims but it could be a big experiment. Another one--big experiment--it’s starting to get just a bit old, actually. Is this one of the ones I get an explanation with? It…would help if someone could, cheers.

[More Text, a couple minutes later]
Amy, CALL ME.

[Text, almost immediately after]
Alright, I give up, how do I switch this over into actually being a phone again?

[ooc: Rory is standing in what he thinks is an an unnoticeable section of the Square, slightly hunched into himself with his back against a wall. He's got his Blackberry up to his face, but he's mostly looking over the top of it, trying to not look nervous. Approach him if this pings you, or if you just want to, I guess!]

Hey.

You just got here, yeah?

Took you long enough.

Where are you? I'll come get you.

Amy! Hello!

voice [2/?]

[identity profile] waitsforever.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I did, just sort of showed up, suddenly...standing in a fountain...

voice [3/5]

[identity profile] waitsforever.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
What do you mean, "just"? Have you been here longer? Is this going to be time travel...stuff?

voice [4/5]

[identity profile] waitsforever.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 03:00 pm (UTC)(link)
...you are 22, right? And I'm still 21 where you're from? You're not from the future, or've been here for...years and years or anything?

voice [5/5]

[identity profile] waitsforever.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh...right, I'm in a sort of plaza, I suppose, one with a rather massive fountain in and a roundabout, for some reason. Well, I'm on the edge of it, really, against...a big yellow brick building...which...is...beside a massive glass building aaaand...some sort of pastry shop.

voice [1/3]

[identity profile] waitedforyears.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, this place does that.

voice [2/4]

[identity profile] waitedforyears.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
'course I'm still 22.

voice [3/4]

[identity profile] waitedforyears.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 03:10 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not really time travel. Not much travel at all, in fact. Or at all.

voice [4/4]

[identity profile] waitedforyears.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 03:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Right. I'll be there in a bit.

Amy? What IS "this place"? No, actually, wait on that one, until you show up.

voice [2/4]

[identity profile] waitsforever.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
And that...is a relief, actually. I'd obviously rather not worry we're going to rip a hole in the fabric of the universe by talking to each other.

voice [3/4]

...'timey wimey', then--and that sounds even more ridiculous when I say it. Somehow.

[Rory waits--something he's rather good at--and puts his mobile away to better keep an eye out for Amy. She shouldn't be too hard to spot and make sure she doesn't miss him, tall and ginger and prone to wearing bright colours as she is.

He's moderately anxious about how long she's been here, not long enough to be a year older, obviously, but long enough, presumably, to actually know her way around the place. Wherever 'the place' is. It doesn't have anything instantly identifying it as a city he knows of. He hopes it's modern day, maybe they can make it home under their own steam, or at least try and contact the Doctor if it's some sort of alien planet. Amy's been stuck here, obviously, for some reason. Not calling him, even with their sonicked-up phones, which is a bit odd, but maybe it just wouldn't work when he was.

After all, he'd just been in the TARDIS with Amy. Maybe her phone had just been waiting to sync with his after Amy had been taken, or maybe they were both teleported at the same time and he just arrived later because of being...out of sync.

Or maybe she hadn't called him at all.

No, that was daft, she would have. So it must have been one of the first ones, plus the fact of her tight miniskirts and her not bothering to go about with her wallet on her: she couldn't book a flight home. If they were on Earth. So that....probably sorted that.

Anyway, he has a plan, good, and he'd nearly forgotten to keep looking for Amy! Rory focusses his eyes again and looks around.]

[Amy comes, well, not running but walking rather quickly into the direction she expects him to be. When she sees him, her face lights up in a broad grin and she waves.

She'd not spend much time thinking about Rory's absence in the time since her own arrival, not because it wasn't important, because he wasn't important - he is - but because dwelling on it made her feel... sad, and a little lonely. Rory not there, the Doctor not knowing her. Yet. Not knowing her yet. She didn't much like those thoughts, so she very decidedly did not think along those lines. Now Rory was here, so it didn't matter anyways how she might have felt in his absence.

She comes to a stop in front of him and leans forward to give him a quick kiss.]

Hi.

[ action ]

[identity profile] waitsforever.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[Rory sees Amy at about the same time she sees him, and he grins back at her, a bit of a goofy grin but he can't help it, his wave in return a little less about drawing attention but hardly hesitant. This is the other slightly awkward bit in his mind, if Amy's had time to miss him or not, and how he should act based around that, as he hasn't barely had any time to miss her at all, beyond a sort of concerned "Where are Amy and the TARDIS and the Doctor?" But if he's too casual, it might seem off.

He won't have to act pleased to see her, though, he is always always always pleased to see her, even if they've been in the same room the whole time and he's only turning back to look at her. Especially when she's looking so excited to see him, it just sort of hits him in the chest, lucky lucky Rory.

He kisses her back when she kisses him.]

Hi.

[And then he puts a hand on her shoulder, giving her a sort of half searching, half concerned look.]

So...you're alright, yes? Things've been...alright here?

[ action ]

[identity profile] waitedforyears.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
'course I'm alright. Don't be daft. [It's easy enough for Amy to shrug off his obvious concern, to grin and act like they've never been apart. Like she didn't spend two weeks here without him, and without the Doctor she knows. She's always been independent, after all, and there's nothing to worry about.

So she links arms with Rory and pulls him away from the wall and onto the square and into the direction of the TARDIS.]

I've been here for two weeks. [That seems to be the most important question to him.] Don't really understand how this place works, but apparently it's a pan-dimensional nexus. [She figures he'd be able to make more of that than she does.] Or so the Doctor says. Oh, and he's here, but he's from before he knows me-- us -- so no spoilers. And he looks different. But he's obviously the Doctor. I've been staying in the TARDIS. And this place is weird, but interesting. [She's ticking off the various items on her fingers as she goes.]

You have to follow the trail if you want to switch your phone back. You'll find your first clue hidden in the fountain.

[Well, nothing TOO bad can have happened if she's acting exactly the same as usual. Rory takes comfort in that. It isn't as if he doesn't know she's prone to pretending nothing's been wrong, but she is acting so very much like always that he just leaves it for now. Maybe if it looked like there was something really seriously wrong, he'd push it.

As it is, he links arms with Amy, takes a step forward, and goes squish.]

Oh. Yeah. Right...the fountain...

[He takes another squishing step forward. It feels weird, but he hasn't much of a choice but to live with it until he gets where Amy is leading him to.]

Pan-dimensional nexus... [Oh. Not good. No easy plane ticket home.] Okay, well, travelling into the multiverse, that's something new, I suppose. [Now, the Doctor. He's here, of course he is and...he and Amy haven't left yet. Waiting for Rory? Or else is there something they need to do here first before leaving. Something incredibly dangerous and foolish to attempt, no doubt. At least he's here, rather than...not here.] What have you two been up to, then? [Innocent question. Really. Truly.] And what IS this place? Other than a pan-dimensional nexus, I mean, what's the point of it? Why are we here?

You're wet. [That's half-disgusted and half-laughing. But she doesn't move away from him.

At his questions, she gives a shrug.]
We've had tea. [Truth.] The Doctor's been tinkering with the TARDIS and I've been exploring, mostly. Apparently, we're stuck here. Really, really stuck.
